Marche

March

From the Apennines to the sea, Marche is a varied vineyard capable of offering interesting white and red wines, an oenological challenge reinitiated by the great Verdicchio .

Like almost all the regions of Italy, the origin of wine is very ancient, from the Etruscans, to the pre-Romanesque age. In the 50s of the last century, a few producers understood that making a quality wine was the right way, in a region where the logic of quantity worked. So for about 30 years Marche today is recognized in Italy for being a region that has strongly believed in its native grapes, first of all Verdicchio, today one of the most famous white wines in Italy.

CLIMATE
The climate is very varied, depending on the layout and the altitude of the reliefs. It is more Mediterranean along the coast and south and more continental in the interior and north, with greater variations in temperature and greater risk of frost.

GROUND
The Marches are characterized, from a geological point of view, by sedimentary formations. In the hilly areas, where the vineyards are mainly found, the sediments are calcareous, clayey, clayey, sandy and sometimes sandy or gravel.

VERDICCHIO

It is a variety of great structure, acidity and high alcohol content, capable of producing very complex wines. Its color is greenish, even when fully ripe, which is why it is named. Very fresh wines are obtained from Verdicchio, with an extremely complex aromatic profile and characterized by an unmistakable mineral finish and often almond-shaped. Although it is mostly eaten young, it is suitable, due to its structure, for long aging. Its extension is 2,500 hectares
Almost 90 of the production is concentrated in the hills around Jesi..

The Verdicchio de norma is usually made in purity but it can be appreciated, without losing its main characteristics, also in the sparkling version, classic or charmat method, sweet or late harvest.

Its DNA is compatible with Trebbiano from Soave and Lugana Venetoo)
