La Tunella

The history of Tunella begins in the 1960s.

The winery before 2002 was called Livio Zorzettig, named after the father of Marco and Massimo Zorzettig, who today run the winery together with their mother Gabriella. In Tunella the present and memory coexist, the desire to experiment and the traditions of the Eastern Hills of Friuli Venezia Giulia, a region in the extreme northeast of Italy, near Venice and on the border with Austria and Slovenia. Tunella is the name of a farm and of a hill located near the farm, between meadows and vineyards immersed in the soft mountainous landscape. The hills are protected from the cold north winds by the Julian Pre-Alps and are pleasantly warmed by the breeze from the Adriatic Sea, only a few tens of kilometers away.

The soils are formed by an alternation of calcareous clay marls or "ponca" in Friulian and calcified sandstones rich in limestone, potassium and phosphorus that can give the wines an absolute elegance.uta.
